Champions League R16: Kobenhavn v Chelsea Recap (2nd Leg)

0 – 0
Kobenhavn v Chelsea
Replay: March 17 @ 6:30PM

The match ended with both teams failing to score.  But it was not without trying on Chelsea’s part, they had so many attempts but they were just not able to convert them into goals.

The 2 goals from their 1st Leg match will advance Chelsea to the Quarterfinals.  A nil-nil draw may do at this round but they might want to work on their finishing in the next games.

Champions League: Kobenhavn v Chelsea – 2nd Leg

Kobenhavn v Chelsea
March 17 @ 5:30AM – Live Game

Kobenhavn is definitely the under dog in this game, facing a strong team plus the fact that Chelsea comes in to this match with a very cushy 2-away goal advantage over them.  The Lions really have their work cut out for them.  But there is a high probability (I wouldn’t say definite because in football, anything can happen) that Chelsea will be advancing to the next round.

Kobenhavn: 0
Chelsea: 2

For the win:
Kobenhavn:
  • Kobenhavn needs to score two more goals than Chelsea, except for a 2-0 (in favour of Kobenhavn) result as they will equal in the number of away goals in aggregate.
Chelsea:
  • a draw can already advance them to the quarter-finals

Highlighted in yellow means that that team will will proceed to the Quarter finals.  Pink means the aggregate score as well as the number of away goals is a tie, so I dunno if they'll do extra time, shoot out or coin toss...

Champions League: Round of 16 Game Recap

0 – 2
Kobenhavn v Chelsea

Anelka was one fire, scoring the two away goals for Chelsea.  Suffering a loss to Everton in the FA Cup last weekend, this would definitely be a much needed boost to them.  I love what Carlo Ancelotti said in a press con (rumors are that his ass is on the line if Chelsea loses against Kobenhavn)

“Maybe it could be the best season that we can ever have a memory of. Maybe it could be the worst. I don’t know.  But wait, wait. Chelsea has not died. It’s still alive.”

I do feel bad for Kobenhavn as I have a soft spot for the underdogs.  This is the lions first time to reach the knock out stage of the Champions League.

Not really a fan of Premiere League Teams, so I dunno if Chelsea is any good, although their coach is Carlo Ancelotti, who used to coach Juve.  And they have strong players like Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Nicolas Anelka, Fernando Torres and Didier Drogba.

Kobenhavn, hhhhmmm… seems like a new player in the Champions League, but a team on the rise...

Anyway, here are great articles about both teams:
