Champions League R16: Lyon v Real Madrid Munich Recap (2nd Leg)

0 – 3
Lyon v Real Madrid
Replay: March 17 @ 9PM

Real Madrid just really dominated this match in their classic Spanish posssession style of football.  They had way more chances than Lyon and we able to convert three of them.  I guess they finally broke the record of never beating Lyon in a match, and it’s a first time since 2004 that they finally reached the Quarterfinals stage.

Cristiano Ronaldo did play after all but was not able to score a goal (I guess I’ll have more chances to see if this is true).

former Real Madrid legend & captain, Raul who is now playing for Schalke

With Schalke also advancing to the next round, I wonder if the two teams will get to play against each other.  This would be a really interesting match, but my money would be on Raul’s Schalke :P

Champions League: Lyon v Real Madrid – 2nd Leg

Lyon v Real Madrid
March 17 @ Live Game

Will Lyon hold on to their record of never losing a match to Real Madrid?  (I’m kinda hoping they would, Real is one of the best clubs in the world, so it’s a feat to never have lost to them).

I’m still curious if CR7’s team mates will celebrate with him if he scores a goal but with his health in question after suffering a hamstring injury in their domestic matches, so it’s not sure yet if he can play for this match.  But Kaka will definitely be out for this game due to his knee injury as well as Sami Khedira with a thigh problem.

Lyon: 0
Real Madrid: 1

For the win:
Lyon:
should score at least one point more than Real
a 2-2 or up draw can qualify them to the next round

Real Madrid:
with the 1st leg ending in a 1-1 draw, Real (like Lyon) should score at least one point more than Valencia
a 0-0 draw can advance them to the next stage

Stadium: Estadio Santiago Bernabéu (Real‘s home turf)

Highlighted in yellow means that that team will will proceed to the Quarter finals.  Pink means the aggregate score as well as the number of away goals is a tie, so I dunno if they'll do extra time, shoot out or coin toss...

Champions League: Round of 16 Game Recap

1 – 1
Lyon v Real Madrid

Since CR7 was not able to score a goal, we’ll just have to wait for the 2nd leg to see if it’s true that his teammates do not celebrate his goals with him.  Gomis’ equalizer in the last minutes of the game maintained Lyon’s record of never losing a match to Real.

Nobody likes Cristiano Ronaldo (duh!)

According to The Spoiler, he has only three teammates who like him.  No surprise there.  There have been rumors and rumblings that Sergio Ramos is looking to transfer to Premier League because of a tiff with CR7.  And then there was this issue with Casillas' GFAlthough I’d say he has at least four or maybe five friends in the team, they forgot to count Ozil and Kaka.  CR7 may be a good player but is an ass.  Apparently, they hate his guts so much that when he scores a goal and does his goal celebration thingy, to quote The Spoiler, “NO-ONE ELSE IS CELEBRATING WITH HIM

So I did a little digging and here are some photos I found of his goal celebrations... most of what I found are of him celebrating alone...

I know men have become more and more metrosexuals,
but I think someone got a little carried away with the plucking as
those eyebrows are just a tad too "shaped" for me
dunno if this one's a goal celebration or it's just CR7 being a douche
there's Ozil going to him... where's everyone else?

I also found a video of his top 10 goals for Real Madrid, see for youself…

What do you think?

So in tomorrow’s match against Lyon, let’s all watch if it is true that nobody celebrates with him (if he can score, that is).
