San mames, Bilbao
Referee: C. Muniz Fernandez
Athletic Bilbao constructed a marvellous result at Camp Nou in the first-leg of this Round of 16 tie as they held Barcelona to a goalless draw. It isn't an easy feat to keep the world class Blaugrana attackers at bay but the Basque side did just that and will now go into tonight's second-leg encounter brimming with confidence.
However, the Lions cannot be over-confident as they have been beaten at San Mames before this season and with the Catalan side heading to the Basque country with a full-strength side, Joaquin Caparros' team should expect to a fiesty fight. Furthermore, Athletic commenced the new year on a disappointing note as they were defeated 2-1 by Deportivo La Coruna at home.
Striker Gaizka Toquero, who scored the opening goal against Barca in the final of the Copa del Rey in 2009, says, "We have to go out with a lot of intensity, with a lot of pressure, and hope they don't have their day."
