Following the successful "25 Years of Match of the Day" series, BBC Video now offers a modern history of famous clubs seen through the programme's lens since 1964. When the cameras first came to the Baseball Ground, Derby County were a high flying second division club. However, it was the appointment of the managerial pairing of Brian Clough and Peter Taylor that ushered in a new era at the club.
With players like Alan Hinton, Roy McFarland and Kevin Hector, the Rams not only won promotion but were crowned Champions for the first time in their history in 1972. Champions again in 1975, Derby were now managed by former favourite Dave MacKay and boasted a squad that included Francis Lee, Bruce Rioch, Colin Tbdd and Archie Gemmill. Derby remained one of the strongest clubs in the land until the end of the decade, when a string managers saw them plummet to the third division. Once again it took a great manager, Arthur Cox, to lead the club back to the top. They won promotion in consecutive seasons and with stars like Peter Shilton, Mark Wright and Dean Saunders became again a force to be reckoned with. This video contains many highlights from three memorable decades of Match of the Day football at the Baseball Ground.
