Pulau Tioman
Hello everyone!
It was another very very long, tiring and fun weekend. Was it worth it? Yes indeed! I was in Pulau Tioman from Saturday til Monday. Dived a total of 5 times, including 1 night dive. To be honest after hearing all the stories from my friends, dive instructors/masters, people about Tioman dive sites, baby and i went there with ZERO EXPECTATIONS of the place. So i went there with a mentality, "as long as we come back safe" and see NEMOs, i should be more than satisfied :)
But in fact, i saw much more than that. For example, a few new kinds of Nudibranch (I dont really care btw), Cuttlefish(which was amazing!) and OMG a TURTLE!! It was a huge one too, but he was kinda shy, he swam away when baby and i started going near it. HOW COULD WE RESIST!!?! LoL. Hopefully we will see much more in Sipadan! Overall, the diving was not bad. But the preparation is kinda crappy, but i guess every island has it style of dives. For instance in Perhentian, we setup our gears in the dive shop, then do our safety check, and when we reach the dive site, we jump straight in with not forgetting anything. Oh yes, they usually cap to max 10 people per dive session. As for Tioman, first of all...Their boats are fucking SLOW! It takes averagely 30-40minutes drive to a dive site, I fell asleep 3times out of a total 4 boat dives. Then we are suppose to bring our equipments to the boat without knowing if its usable and there are no spare ones if yours dont turn out good. We start to setup the gears when we are on the way there, and it sucks because the boat will be rocking and i get sea sick easily... I almost threw up on my 3rd dive. AAAAAAAaanyway, i don't wanna complain too much, because every islands has their pros and cons.
Besides the divings, we ended up making good friends with a few divers. They are hella funny, definitely wont be seeing the last of them. They were doing madness stuff underwater, i will post up some videos for you to see =)
