This will be the 10th meeting between Costa Rica and Honduras in Copa Centroamericana play. The Ticos, which have won a record six Central American titles, holds a slight advantage with four wins to Honduras' three.
Five of the previous nine meetings between the two rivals in the competition have been decided by one goal or less. The largest margin of victory was by four goals in 1997, when the Ticos won 4-0 at Guatemala City.
Costa Rica has conceded one goal or less in 18-consecutive Copa Centroamericana games. Honduras, which played at the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals in South Africa, has scored 16 goals in its last six Copa Centroamericana games (but have only one in their last two).
