More ewan moments...

The heavily fortified Green Zone in Baghdad has opened its first karaoke bar inside one of Saddam's former palaces. Naturally, you know who the first parokyanos are....The Filipinos of course! How they are inside Iraq given that our passports are not valid for travel to Iraq shows our determination to spread the word via song....

So some fan decided to jump on the Popemobile today. For whatever reason, we don't know..... yet. (Maybe to check out the crisp audio system?)

I first saw the clip on BBC and it had no audio commentary. I'm no expert but I pretty much figured out by myself what had happened.

I then switched to CNN and there was this annoying voice of a newscaster describing FRAME by frigging FRAME what was transpiring.

It's frigging video you mo-ran, we can see it for ourselves!

I wonder what sort of audience CNN is targeting....

Philippine News TV of course is the master when it comes to talking heads spouting the obvious. Take the cases of Mike Enriquez and Korina Sanchez, again commentating on the Popemobile's journey along Edsa. "Ayan na po, ayan na po, puti po ang Popemobile. Ayun po ang santo papa, kumakaway. Ayan kumakaway po si santo papa..." Hello are we WATCHING TV or what?

I shudder to think what the names of the other siblings are....(BBC photo)

Warning. Rare personal rant ahead.....

So it has been confirmed by the final tally. There are at least 133,000 misinformed/idiotic voters in my home region of The Cordilleras. This is the minimum number of votes Mike Defensor and Chavit Singson each got.

I don't understand how an agricultural region like the Cordilleras could vote for Mike Defensor. This is a man who as head of DENR allowed non-quarantined vegetables from China to enter Philippine borders without subjecting them to an exhaustive test for the presence of non-endemic crop diseases. This not only depressed the local farming economy, it had a domino effect, dealing a big blow to the mango-growing regions whose produce were snubbed by Australia.

Australia of course requires strict quarantine and testing of foreign products to protect their farming industry from diseases. So here was Mike Defensor allowing diseased crops to enter the Philippines while at the same time convincing the Aussies that our mangoes would pass their strict quarantine requirements. Hello, quarantine laws nga natin di mo masunod, eh sinong maniniwala sa iyo???? How incompetent is that!

So I don't get the point why Mike Defensor is suddenly a 'good man' deserving 'kudos' for conceding in the senatorial elections. He deserves to lose! This is a man who uses the tax-paid resources of the Presidential Security Group as a taxi service!!!!! (Adel Mawanay, your limo is waiting. Please help yourself to the mini-bar.)

And to my kailyans who voted for Chavit Singson, I don't know what your excuses are. Why would you vote for someone like him? Apay??????

And to those from Maguindanao, stop putting yourselves inside the 'cultural minority/religious persecution' victimhood box to qualify the magical outcome of Chavit getting majority 'votes' in your province. It has nothing to do with religion or culture that your elections were a big sham. The main reason you're screwed up is that your corrupt warlord leaders are fucking assholes. (This also applies to Abra.)

Let us assume for a moment that Maguindanao did have a shura. I personally like the shura. The shura is direct democracy at its finest. (It is the southern version of the dap-ay). In fact, I wish the whole Philippines adopts the shura/dap-ay. Anyways, so you went around Maguindanao's 22 municipalities holding shuras and you consulted the people on who they thought deserved your vote. Are you telling me that of the 200,000 persons who attended one of those shuras, NOT A SINGLE ONE pointed out that "Hmmm, why vote for Chavit? He is very corrupt. Let's not vote for someone whose own province has a poverty level of 30%." Indeed, please tell me NO ONE pointed this out???

The above logic also applies to those promoting Joe De Venecia as a qualified leader of the Tongress of the Philippines. Have you ever seen JDV's OWN district in Pangasinan? (I have!) He can't even sort out his own backyard. How is he a good leader? Pwe! Anggapo lay nibaga na.

Anyways, can anyone tell me how many hectares of kangkungan can you buy for 100M pesoses? I loves it that Prospero "Etanem sa Sinadu" Pichay compared himself to Abraham Lincoln and Richard Nixon when explaining his political loss. Further proof that Gloria Arroyo's Sunshine boys are all delusional like her.

Now back to regular programming...
